Join the Santa Rosa Junior College CHW Core Competencies EMC 170 class!
CHW stands for Community Health Workers, an umbrella term that groups many job titles, like Promotorxs de Salud and Tribal CHRs.
A CHW certification can lead you to not only job opportunities but a transformative and rewarding career. Become a SRJC-certified Community Health Worker (CHW) and prepare yourself for a succesful career in community health!
Why Choose SRJC?
• Experienced Faculty: learn from highly experienced and dedicated CHWs.
• Online Format: conveniently attend classes from anywhere.
• Self-Paced: asynchronous class lets you work on assignments at your own direction.
EMC 170 is an online course that will award a certificate in CHW upon successful completion. Students will spend a semester learning about the roles and responsibilities of CHWs, participate in discussions and shadow CHWs who are working in their clinical and field settings.
Classes begin in the Spring and Fall. Check the SRJC schedule of classes for course availability. Registration assistance and financial aid are available, along with scholarships.
Tribal community members are especially encouraged to take the course. Tuition assistance may be available!
